About the Society

The Saudi Society of Otorhinolaryngology (SORL) is the national scientific society representing ENT medicine and surgery in Saudi Arabia, affiliated with the Scientific Societies Administration at King Saud University (ssa.ksu.edu.sa).

The Society brings together those with an interest in otorhinolaryngology — specialist physicians, trainees and students — from all regions of the Kingdom. It works to advance clinical practice, support scientific research, provide continuing medical education, and strengthen collaboration among professionals locally and internationally.

The Society was founded in 1407 AH (1986–1987 CE) by a group of pioneering professors and leaders of the specialty in Saudi Arabia, who laid its foundation. Among its most prominent early founders who contributed to its establishment and scientific development were Prof. Kamal Jalal Daghestani (may he rest in peace) and Prof. Abdulaziz Jamil Ashour (may he rest in peace).
